Chang Zhang joined HRP in 2021 as a Director of Mixed-Use Development where he is primarily focused on the L Street Station redevelopment project in South Boston, Massachusetts. Chang’s responsibilities span a range of development activities including product design management, approvals and permitting, project budgeting and forecasting, joint venture reporting, and branding and marketing.

Prior to joining Hilco, Chang served as an Assistant Vice President at GID Investment Advisors, a real estate investment/operating company with more than $20 billion in assets under management. During his five years at GID, Chang closed $1.3B in stabilized acquisitions and development joint ventures in the multifamily sector, representing approximately 5,000 residential units. Chang was responsible for bringing deals from underwriting through investment committee.

Prior to GID, Chang spent six years in Acquisitions and Development roles with Marcus Partners, Jonathan Rose Companies, and Urbanica Development. In these positions, Chang analyzed acquisition and development opportunities across major US markets. Chang managed the 691 Mass Ave multifamily development in the South End, Boston from construction to close-out, and led successful RFP bids for the Caesura mixed-use development in Brooklyn, Melnea Hotel and Residences in Roxbury, and E+ energy positive housing in Highland Park.

Chang holds a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University. He is an active member of NAIOP, ULI, and REFA.
