Senior Vice President, Mixed-Use Construction | Boston

John Newhall joined HRP in 2022 to lead the firm’s construction in the urban, mixed-use development space. In this role, he has responsibility for the management of several projects currently underway, including 776 Summer Street in Boston, the former PRGS site in Alexandria, Virginia, and a 250-acre life science campus at The Bellwether District in Philadelphia. He is responsible for managing and coordinating the construction of all mixed-use assets and overlooking design documentation throughout project development.

Prior to joining HRP, John was Vice President, Project Executive at Suffolk Construction Company, where he spent 16 years and was responsible for managing many of the company’s most complex urban construction projects in downtown Boston, including Millennium Place, a 600,000 SF residential development, Millennium Tower, a 1.1M SF residential and retail development in Downtown Crossing and Winthrop Center Tower, a 1.8M SF mixed-use development at the corner of the financial district and downtown crossing.

Prior to these projects, John also managed the construction of the new Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University, The Fenway Community Health Center in Boston as well as numerous projects on Brown University’s campus and at Brigham and Women’s Hospital on the Longwood campus.

John holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Legal Studies from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.
