John Sitler
Manager of Operations | Philadelphia
John Sitler joined HRP as Manager of Operations in June 2020 when HRP acquired the Philadelphia Energy Solutions refinery site. In his role, Mr. Sitler will manage, lead, and collaborate with the project team to ensure that the facility is operated and transitioned in a safe, reliable, and environmentally compliant manner. Mr. Sitler will also support the decommissioning and demolition of the facility as it progresses into the development phase of the project. Mr. Sitler’s knowledge of the facility equipment will help support the project team with sales and maximization of scrap value.
Mr. Sitler has nearly 20 years of refinery mechanical integrity experience. Prior to joining HRP, Mr. Sitler served in various key mechanical integrity leadership positions in the Philadelphia Energy Solutions and Sunoco Northeast Refineries where he managed regulatory compliance inspections, fixed equipment reliability, turnaround planning, and the mechanical integrity budget. His most recent role was the Mechanical Integrity manager responsible for the Reliability Engineers and Inspection department.
Mr. Sitler’s certifications include American Petroleum Institute 510 Pressure Vessel Inspection, American Petroleum Institute 570 Piping Inspection, National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel In-service Inspector, American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector, Pennsylvania Commissioned Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspector, Department of Transportation operator qualified inspector, Root Cause Failure Analysis and Six Sigma Green Belt.
