Mr. Purcell joined HRP in October 2020 as Senior Vice President of Asset Management. Mr. Purcell is responsible for managing HRP’s portfolio, including all aspects of the day-to-day operations at each project, reporting for capital partners and interfacing with the development and finance teams. Mr. Purcell has more than 25 years of experience in commercial real estate, including asset management, development, construction, workouts and leasing.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Purcell served as President of Leasing and Management Services at MB Real Estate where he was responsible for business lines which included asset management, agency leasing, construction management and accounting. In addition, he spearheaded the acquisition and subsequent renovations of properties such as One North LaSalle and 549 West Randolph. He has also been recognized as a leader in efforts to revitalized Chicago’s Central Business District. In earlier roles, he oversaw the $125 million repositioning and redevelopment of a vintage property portfolio in downtown Chicago in which he directed all leasing efforts. As a result of his management, the occupancy levels of the portfolio rose from 20% to 92%. He also secured Class L real estate tax status for several of the properties. In total, Mr. Purcell has overseen over $250 million in repositioning and redevelopment projects.

Mr. Purcell sits on the board of directors of BOMA Chicago, the University of Chicago Medical Center, and numerous civic organizations. He is also a 2014 Fellow of Leadership Greater Chicago. Mr. Purcell earned his B.S. in Accountancy from DePaul University and is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Illinois.
